This Flip Family Potty Seat for Elongated Toilets is multi-purpose, with a special sized seat for the toilet training individual and an adult size seat for everyone else. Simply raise the juvenile lid to reveal a smaller, kid-size opening.
When the juvenile lid is closed, it appears as one solid lid. When you open the entire lid, you reveal a Elongated sized opening for adults!
This easy-to-clean toilet seat has a slow close hinge to eliminate loud slams of the seat onto the bowl. Even though it has a built-in transition seat for children, this toilet seat has a contemporary, adult design so it is perfect for any bathroom!
The Flip Family Potty Seat for Elongated Toilets is also available in a Standard version.
To determine if your toilet is round-front or elongated, measure the distance between the center of the bolt holes (which connects the seat to the bowl) to the front rim of the toilet. If it measures approximately 16 ?", your toilet is a round-front. If it measures approximately 18 ?", it is an elongated model.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY TOILET SEAT IS ROUND FRONT OR ELONGATED?
Works great so far! (Apr 12, 2013)
My 26.5 month old (potty training for 2.5 months now) is not a huge fan of the 'big potty' but took to this seat right away. It's easy for her to get just the top part of the lid up and she can sit on it easily with the help of a stool. I liked that it's all plastic and soft close. It isn't as comfy as our previous seat given the contours of the adult seat (-.5 star), but it's not too bad. Easy to install and seems very sturdy in comparison with our old seat. It is a little bit tall and doesn't line up with shape of our toilet perfectly on the sides (-0.5 star), but the front to back length is right and since it has to hold the small and large seat under the lid I'm guessing all of these seats are a bit tall. I plan to buy another for our downstairs bath.
Great idea! (Feb 11, 2013)

My boy is still a bit young/small to really use the seat unless we use the insert from his Cars Potty. With that seat on top, it works great. He'll just need to grow into it and then I'll be able to give a better idea of likes/dislikes. As for adults, I don't care for the seat. Not to ergonomically comfortable but I suppose there's always the other toilet for us if we want to be comfortable. This one is mainly for the boy anyway.
toilet seat (Jul 07, 2012)
It's a great product and easy to install.
I only felt the rim is a bit too narrow for adult but it's fine with kids.
Great family seat :) (Feb 24, 2012)
Our little 3 yr old feels very comfortable climbing on, sitting on and climbing back off all by himself. It's also very handy so others can easily use the same toilet without having to move awkward little seats
. Nice that it's a soft close too, although that only seems to work for the adult seat rather than our potty trainers seat. But all in all, comfy and secure, and only took me 2 minutes to install. Very satisfied, it even matches our toilet! :)
Potty training made easier (Feb 13, 2012)
I bought this product
out of necessity. The ring potty seats kept falling in the toilet while my daughter was sitting on them. I needed a solution for an elongated toilet bowl. I love this product!!! Installation was very easy, and my daughter gets to use the "big girl potty." No removable ring to have to touch or find a place to store. I highly recommend this toilet seat.
Great invention (Jan 26, 2012)
I love this seat, it is a great invention
. My daughter loves it, it is her own special toilet seat and is great for potty training. Also the toilet seats go up and down slowly so the kids are not slamming the seats.
Solid seat for the price (Jan 16, 2012)

Was a breeze to install and appears to be high quality especially for the price...Highly recommend this one
and don't see a need to buy a more expensive brand
Not a seat (Nov 19, 2011)

Delivers what it
promises and the kids love it! Only thing, it is not good as just a seat anymore. The plastic is too light for that. Overall though, love it.
The only solution I've found so far (Sep 19, 2011)

This is the only potty training toilet seat
solution I've found so far. We decided not to do a plastic baby potty in our house so my husband and I went looking for a folding travel potty seat, none of which fit our home toilet. everything slid around or left gaps. Potty training is scary enough let alone when your kid is afraid to fall in! This is perfect. It's clean, secure and VERY unobtrusive. You dont even know it's there. And it VERY easy to install. Brilliant. Now make a foldable travel option for elongated seats and we'll be all set!!
Perfect Potty Seat (Jul 10, 2011)
My son loves it, he feels like a real big boy. No problems with stability. My husband and I do not have any trouble with the seat falling down. The whole family loves it. I even ordered one for my in-laws since my children spend a lot of time there, can't wait to get it. P.S. I installed it myself in less than 5 minutes.
Great Design (Jun 24, 2011)
The at home daycare had a adult/child toilet seat, however; the design was very different to this one. After receiving this adult/child elongated seat I LOVE it much better than the one at daycare. It is very easy for adults to use which I would have thought would have been a little inconvenient but it isn't. The child portion is on the top makes it extremely easy for my toddler to open and close it. He absolutely loves going on the BIG potty as he calls it. This product gets an A+ from me. I also LOVE the quiet closing feature, wonderful when you have to use the bathroom while the little ones sleep.
Great for the kids! (Jan 21, 2010)
Great idea, and my daughter LOVES it. Adults beware... the toddler part comes down and hits you in the back when you use the adult portion. It is also very thin and feels like you are sitting on the rim. The entire seat does not stay up, so my husband can't use it at all.
BRILLIANT solution! (Jan 13, 2010)
Like many of you, I'm sure, we've been through a few different options and had quite a few tries as to which would be the best "potty seat" for our 2 1/2 yr old. She is absolutely ready to be sitting on the "big girl potty" - but is afraid of falling in... sound familiar?
We had all kinds of troubles because both toilets in our house have elongated seats, and everything we tried to put on our seats slid around and made our toddler very nervous. This (
Flip Family Potty Seat for Elongated Toilets) seat has saved our lives... I'm actually back to this site writing this review and buying another for our second bathroom.
I understand what the one poster was saying about the "adult" seat being a bit more narrow than normal - perhaps it is, a *little* more narrow, but it doesn't bother any of the adults in our house in the least.
It is insanely simple to install (I'm a *big* ole girl and I was able to do it in 5 mins.), and it looks great.
MOST importantly? Because of the sturdiness of the seat, and the contour of it for "wee bums"? Our daughter *loves* it and now won't even allow us to come into the bathroom with her... she says "i can DO it by my SELF. I need my privacy." Fine by us!
We not only endorse this product whole heartedly? We've come back for another... that should speak volumes for it!
A win-win solution for everyone (Aug 25, 2009)

I researched this quite a bit before buying and am thrilled with this seat. We have it on both toilets in our house and it's been great for us and our now 4.5 year old son. It allows him to be self-sufficient, which he just loves (as do we!). We've had it more than 6 months now and it's so seamlessly integrated into our life now that the only time I remember it's not a regular toilet seat is when a guest comes out of the bathroom and asks where I got it so they can get it for their child.
It's quite sturdy and comfortable. I would caution you not to stand on the closed seat though to reach high-up items, like you might on a traditional porcelain seat.
Well worth the money if you're (a) sick of having an extra piece of toilet-training gear sitting in your bathroom; (b) want your child to establish his independence and "go potty" without you having to help him get set up); and (c) don't want to have to constantly wipe down the detachable seat...this one's so much cleaner and more sanitary.
Love it! (Jul 10, 2009)
We bought this when my older son began potty training. It's great, not bulky like some other kid's seats, and it doesn't need to be removed for an adult to use the same toilet. I also really like the "slow down" feature of the lids, there are no worries about it coming down too fast and hurting a little boy, (or waking up a a baby!) Not sure what the other commenter meant about the adult seat being too open, it seems like a normal elongated seat to me.
All our guests think this seat is the coolest! (May 14, 2009)
Friends think this seat is so cool because the seat lowers slowly, almost like hydraulics! The previous reviewer noted that the lid can slam down. However, it is so light, I don't think a child would suffer a major finger smash as they would from a standard lid. Also, since it is light, toddlers can close it gently on their own and it is not heavy for their little arms. The kid and adult seats do not smash down, and they are the heaviest. My tot loves this seat because he doesn't have to balance himself. Another bonus, he scoots up onto the seat without a step stool. In fact he refuses it, because the seat is so small he can scoot backward without fear of falling in. Although expensive, worth every penny in peace of mind and comfort for your little one.
good concept - poor design (Apr 11, 2009)
Reviewer: Keiki's Mom
Beware, adults in your home probably will not find the adult seat comfortable. The opening is extra large and the adult seat does not have much surface area, so it feels like you're sitting on a hoop and you might fall in. The child seat is great and has adequate surface area. One nice feature is that the child seat's interior rim curves down to completely protect the adult seat from drips. The adult seat is almost flat against the rim of the toilet, which makes it awkward to grab it to raise the entire seat. Like other combo-potties, the lid does not have the quiet feature, so it just slams down. All in all, good concept, but poor design. The packaging said Home Trends, distributed by Wal-Mart.
