3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Sofar, just a toy!, 2.12.2009
Reviewer: Hopeful 22y Old Mommy (Syracuse, ny)

My 16 month daughter is in her first week of potty training with this fisher price potty chair. Now that she knows the chair has so many "bells and whistles", I feel like there's no hope of getting her to actully "sit" on this potty. Now that I've read the three stage uses provided on this web site, I'm thinking that i might connect it to the real toilet so that she won't be tempted to get up and down to play with the seat as if it is just a toy. THERE'S STILL HOPE!!! I will post another review with the results.

Reviewer: shelley (, PA)

TOO much of a toy!! my daughter wanted to play with this as a toy rather than sit on it. The seat says, "upppp....dowwnnnn." when lifted. so she lifted it over and over... spun the fake toilet paper roll just to hear the song..used the flush handle over and over! and then started to put stuff IN the potty for storage! I would close the bathroom door to keep her for it and she would cry to play with it. Needless to say I put it away. I thought it would encourage/excite her and give her something to entertain her.. but, sorry,I am going back to a plain old basic chair with books on hand for entertainment Not recommended by me. My daughter is 2.

I bought this for my 2 year old thinking he would like the music, but he'd rather pull the splash guard off or try to rip the back of the seat off. Too much for the kid to play with instead of concentrating on learning to use the potty.

Reviewer: NA (, )

I have this potty chair for my son who just turned 3 (he's skinny though, just about 30 lbs). The actual potty/poop opening is too small, he doesn't feel or look comfortable using it. He does have fun playing with the musical part of it.

Reviewer: anonymous (, )

I purchased this potty because of all the bells and whistles. I thought is was the greatest thing (it was the second potty we had purchased). At first my little gut loved it but what he really liked was the detachable urine guard that he wanted to take off and play with. Then it would fall off as he was sitting on the potty and I would have to be extra care in putting back on so it would not pinch his skin. For a girl this might be great but for a boy not so much. Also all the singing and noise seemed to distract him from the task at hand and I would have to turn it off until he was done then turn it on to do the potty dance.
