When it comes to potty training, the two questions asked most often by parents are how should I potty train my toddler and at what age?

I wish the answer was as simple as - here are the 5 steps that will do the trick. But alas, the answer is NOT that simple.

Asking how you should potty train your child is asking how you should parent your child - AND you already know that there is NOT a simple answer to, "how should I parent my child"?

Just like parenting, one shoe does NOT fit all.

This is an excellent question and there isn't a shortage of opinions and answers on this subject! But most experts agree that there is no set age at which toilet training should begin.

Just as crawling, walking, and talking are developmental milestones and each child does this when she is ready, potty training is also a developmental milestone.

So, how do you know if your child is ready? Your child will give you signs, or readiness signals.
