You decide which one will work best for you.
Stuffed toys as potty dolls.
These dolls do not drink water and do not go potty. When using these dolls, you and your child pretends to make the doll drink water and pretends to make the doll go potty.
These do dolls sing and make potty time fun and there is no messes with water
These dolls come in different versions, with a teddy bear being the most popular; however other versions are also available - with a singing Potty Elmo being the most recent addition to these types of dolls.
The concept you want to teach your child is to associate a feeling of fullness with the result i.e. urination. These dolls will only communicate this conceptually.

A "drink & wet" doll
Shown above are the aquini potty dolls; they can drink water, but cannot hold the water. Basically, these type of drink and wet dolls have a tube from the mouth to the bottom, so when you give the dolls water, it comes out right away. It is extremely hard to simulate the going potty behavior with these dolls.
The girl version of these type of drink and wet dolls are readily available at a great price at stores such as Walmart & Target.
The only anatomically correct boy version of this doll is the boy aquini potty doll. It is a little harder to come by, but can be found online and at specialty toy stores.
