Potty Watch - Reminds Your Child to go Potty!
When using the Practice makes Perfect method of potty training, the biggest challenge a parent has is to remind their child that they need to go potty. The Potty Watch is designed to help with just that challenge! It takes care of the job for you the parent and not only makes it easy for you but fun for your child!
How does the Potty watch work?
The Potty Watch helps children remember to try to go potty by playing music and lighting up at 30, 60, or 90 minute intervals, as set by their parent. Children just starting their potty training will usually start at 30 minute intervals, and increase as they get better at knowing when they need to go.
To help children stay on the potty long enough to really try, the PottyWatch plays songs (see song lyrics below) that they can sing along to while they're trying to go.
Here is what The Doctor's (Show) had to say about Potty Watch:
Features of the Potty Watch:
- 30, 60 and 90 minute modes that will count down to 00:00.
- Song plays and lights flash to remind your child that it is time to go potty
- After song (see song lyrics below), timer automatically resets itself and begins counting down again
- Wristband - kid friendly FDA approved TPR soft rubber
- Comes in 3 colors - Blue for Boys, Pink for Girls or Gender neutral Green
- NOTE: This is not a watch - it is timer to remind your child to go potty
Wristband length - 7 1/2 inches. For small wrists can fasten down to 4 3/4 inches
Face dimensions are 1 1/4 inches x 1 1/2 inches
Lyrics of the two songs that the Potty Watch Plays:
Potty Time
(Tune "London Bridge")
Look at me, it's potty time,
Potty time, potty time.
Look at me, it's potty time,
Let's go potty now.
I'm So Happy
(Tune "Oh My Darling")
I'm so happy,
I'm so happy,
I'm so happy, when I'm dry!
So I'm going to the potty,
Every hour, I will try.
Product Specifications
Our daughter has been using it for 2 weeks so far.
She only uses it at night and we have it set for every 1 1/2. It is cheap and works.
This is a cute product and works just as it says...you set it for 30, 60, or 90 minutes and it plays a little song when the timer is up. My problem is I am a sucker and let me daughter play with it like a toy. I was worried it was gonna be bulky from the pictures but its not...its really cute.
I purchased the watch for my granddaughter. She loves it, and it has really helped. The battery doesn't last very long.
I saw one review that was negative on 7-17-09 but said that the watch was being redesigned so i figured by now it would have been improved. I ordered the watch and i cannot get it to set to the choices of intervals. It just flashes "play" I called about it and they sent me another watch but I still cannot get it to work. Maybe i am doing something wrong but I am going by the instructions to press the "mode" button and then the other button to set the amount of time for the timer.
It worked great for us!
Our girl trained in just a week, with no power struggle, because it is Potty Watch, and not me, telling her that IT IS TIME TO GO...
I only wish it was not shaped like a toilet¡¡¡ Since I am the one who is wearing it.
It is a bit bulky for a 2 year old. Still would buy it again, and recomend to all my friends.
Love the idea and it helped, but the watch lasted only a week. The owner of the company was very apologetic and replaced the watch for me and explained they are working on a new design.
This watch did the trick. My son was now excited about going to the potty every 30 minutes.
Works great when it works. After 4 days it ran out of battery. I bought new batteries that last only for a day.
The watch needs to be reset a lot by taking out the battery and put them back in. 2 days later...need more batteries.
By the way, the batteries cost more than the watch itself. Buy the timex potty watch instead.
Alexandra adores the Potty Watch. Getting her to go to the toilet consistently was always a trial, and with two older brothers to keep track of, it was hard for me to remember to remind her. The Potty Watch reminded both of us when it was time to try, and gave her the confidence she needed to finish the job and practically train herself.
My little girl Lola loves it and she hasn't peed or pooped her pants since we got it there was only three times that she didn't make it on time.
I tried everything with my 3 year old but she would not show any interest in potty training until a former college roommate told me about the Potty Watch. This cute little timer fits on her wrist and plays a song with flashing lights and automatically repeats every 30 60 or 90 minutes. Brynn was soon telling ME it when it was "Potty Time" and sang the potty time song lyrics that came in the package. It actually made the experience fun for both of us, and with consistent trips to the potty she soon gained the confidence to practically train herself. At just $10 this was the best bargain I have found in a long time!
Watch quality doesn't look that great. I was semi pleased the first day. By the second day the watch had stopped working. I don't see any instructions on how to changed the battery or what type it needs.
I ordered 2 watches. One had a bad battery and stopped working after 15 minutes. The other is still working but sounds awful. The concept is great - and my daughter runs to the potty when the alarm goes off. But the way it sounds, the battery will probably stop working in about a day or so.
Potty Training Concepts Response: We replace, with no cost to the customer, all defective products. The watch batteries will only last for so long, the more frequent the music/alarm is set off, the shorter the life on it is. They are easily replaceable with a standard watch battery.
