good idea, but not quite there (Nov 29, 2008)
Good idea, but you'd have to bring a can of disinfectant to spray the side of the potty poncho that touched the toilet. Then wait 5 minutes (according to Lysol) to disinfect, then fold up and put away.
Otherwise, the same germs that would stick to your kid will stick to the poncho. If you don't disinfect, I'm sure once you fold it up anything you are worried about (ie germs, whatever) will get on the other side of the poncho.
It either needs to be disposable, or you should put a disposable liner under it, between the poncho and the toilet.
Or teach your kids to pee standing up, and hold them standing on the toilet. (I have Norwegian friends who have taught their daughters to pee standing up!)
perfect! (Feb 14, 2013)
I ordered 6 of them in natural color for iron ons that we are doing for a baby shower! They arrived perfectly and on time! Very pleased!
Straight out of the box (Nov 24, 2008)
My order arrived today and my son helped unpack the box. I told him what the Potty Scotty Chair was and he picked it up and carried it straight up to the bathroom. We took off his shorts and his diaper and he sat down and pooped. Can't get any better than that! The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is you have to clean the whole potty as it is all one piece. The pro to this is that it is one smooth surface and wipes out easily.

My son is 3 3/4 years old. I just started potty training him. He immediately went to his blue potty chair and used it.That is, he can use this potty chair very well. It is a single piece that once it is used, it has to be wiped and clean or rinse in the sink. No hassle. I really love this piece. Plan to use it as a portable one and see how it goes.
Good for kids over 18 months (Aug 14, 2011)
I ordered two Scotty Potties
for my 19 months twin boys. The potties look great and one of the twins has learned quickly to use it. The potty is large enough that the kid can see when he pees and that helps him to concentrate on this act. The reason that I looked after a simple potty is that my kids love to break down everything they reach. It happened with all the four patties that I bought before and they never had the chance to actually sit on them. This time the potty is just for sitting not for playing with the parts.

My 3-year old, Brewster, has finally decided he wants to use the potty, and he chose this one. It looks similar to the potties on one of his how-to DVDs.
He has been using it several times daily for a week! He says, "I like to pee in the potty!"
We are extremely pleased with our purchase.
