Hi Marci, You are doing exactly the right thing. You tried it, she didn't respond, and you went back to diapers. She may not be ready. Now that a little time has passed, check out the potty training readiness signals we've listed and move full steam ahead if you think it is time. But before you do, be sure you have a plan. Consider the various potty training methods and choose one that suits your child's (and your) personality. And finally, make sure you have all the right tools ( potty training chair, potty training seat, training pants, DVDs, books, and more). Don't forget to have fun! Thank you for your post. Good luck, and please give us an update soon. Sincerely, Narmin |

Renee Dufala, I have just completed Potty training boot camp weekend with my 21 Mo old son. The problem he is having is this. He starts to have an accident in his underware but stops them and comes and gets me... But when I sit him on the potty all he does is fuss and wiggle like crazy... After ten minutes of sitting there, and a few accidental drops that have reached the potty chair. I then take him off the chair and he starts to have an accident with in minutes...And the cycle starts all over again...And again...And Again!!! He is not afraid to sit on the potty for periods at a time.. He only has a problem when he actually has to go... Could it be that it hurts him to go after he has stopped himself, or does he just not know how the pee comes out and is struggling to use the muscles needed!!! What can I do to help him, or is he just not ready yet!!! |
