First off, this is my forth child, but my first girl. My first two boys trained right at 2yrs, my third boy (autsitic) trained at 4. This little girl has been different from birth. She sat at 3 months, crawled at 5 and walked (like across the room) at 7 1/2 months. She is very verbal and showing signs of training. She will tell me, "poopoo" before she goes and I take her to the rest room and she puts her seat on the toliet, climbs up and sits there and pretends to grunt, then asks for toilet paper, wipes, and climbs down. Then goes "poopoo" in her diaper and comes to me lays in front of me and says "poopoo", "fix it". She only has about 4-5 wet diapers a day (I use cloth) so I know she is holding it. I just can't seem to get her to actually go. I am fairly sure that if she happened to go once on the potty, praise would be enough that she would probably train in days. She seem ready, but hasn't got the connection that the toilet is where you go lol. Any advice? |

Hi Deena, Your daughter sounds absolutely adorable! I agree with you. She seems to be ready but hasn't connected all the dots yet. Given her past modeling behavior I highly recommend moving forward with the Potty Training in One Day Method. I also recommend using one of the Potty Patty Kits that are specifically designed for potty training. I believe the method will suite her personality perfectly. And the Potty Patty Kit will provide everything you need to implement the method with ease. Please let us know how it goes. And thank you for your post! Sincerely, Michaelyn |

I have a 2&1/2 yr old girl that has recently become intrested in the potty. She has a "potty ring" and stepstool at home and is being coached at her daycare throughout the day. What I don't understand is that she has never "gone" on the potty. She loves to put the seat on the potty, put the stepstool up, read books, take her own clothes off, wash her hands, wear pull-ups. I've tried everything to get her to go and she just waits until the pull-up is back on to pee or poop, her bed is even wet sometimes in the morning. I am concerned b/c she has always been constipated since her birth. She had a bowel movement recently that wouldn't flush! She is very picky with her beverage in she really only likes to drink milk. I switched to 1% b/c I think it helps, is this true?Apple juice is the only other b/c she understands it will help her "poop" on occasion. Please help!!!!! |
