My 2 1/2 year old son is in the process of potty training. He consistantly pee's in the potty 5-7 times a day standing up... but only poops in the potty maybe twice a week. How can we motive him to poop more consistently in the toilet? We've been rewarding him with jelly beans and stickers, but are leaning towards a "reward board" to track his progress. Any add'l suggestions would be much apprieciated. |

My son is 5 and will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. He consistently pees in the potty, and knows when he has to go. My problem is that he won't do the same when he has to poop. He doesn't have a fear of the potty because he's used it to poop before - even once when we were on vacation and we didn't have his potty seat (which sits on the toilet) with us. I'm a work-at-home mom and sometimes I can catch him making "that face" and I can get him to sit on the potty on time. There have even been days where he's pooped on the potty and later on that same day, he'll poop in his pants. Short of following him around all day, or keeping him attached to my side so I can catch him when I think he has to go, what can I do? I've tried the charts, I've tried the bribes, I've tried taking away his favorite toys and/or priveleges - what's left??? Help! |
