My 22 month old pretty much self trained.
I mean I bought a small potty, and also a seat that fits our toilet, and one day she just started using them. Without asking for help. If she poops in the small potty she will even try to "dump" it in the big toilet herself. Only do I know she's gone when she comes to find me to help her wipe.
This totally surprised us. She has an older sister so we think she got inspiration from her.
She's not 100% yet though. If we go out she wears Pullups and about half of the time we make it to a potty without her going in her Pullup. She doesn't always tell us she has to go, or if I ask she sometimes won't answer me. Sometimes she sees a restroom and says "pee pee bad!!" like she urgently has to go but when I take her she doesn't. Tonight before her bath she pooped in her Pullup and didn't tell me. This was unusual because she hadn't pooped anywhere but in the potty for about a month now.
My biggest challenge is she won't were underpants. If we are home she is bottomless and goes on the potty every time, no misses. If we are to have company or something I tell her "let's put on some panties" and she says "no! Pullup!" If I actually get panties on her she will just take them off.
I'm at a cross roads here because I feel like she wears the Pullups and is just being lazy and going in them at her leisure. She Knows she can't pee in panties. For a while she would automatically pee in panties (within minutes) after putting them on. I think this frustrated her and now she won't wear them! But I hate putting her in Pullups because she's lazy and will go in them!
What should I do??? I feel like she's come so far and I don't want to come to a standstill, or even cause her to regress.

I know that this was posted a while ago but if you've gotten through this, any of your insight would be greatly appreciated.
I am going through the almost same thing with my 3 year old son. He will go in the potty every time if he's "commando" but if he has on pull-ups or underwear he has an accident every time. He can even go overnight accident free if he's naked from the waist down.
It's so frustrating because I know he's perfectly capable of doing it, but just won't.
