My son has been potty training for exactly 1 week now. He will go on the potty pee or poop everytime I take him. He is usually clock work every two hours. And if I take him he goes. But I'm confused because everytime I try to let it go to see if he will tell me he does not. He always has an accident at that point or goes a little then holds it until I take him. But he never tells me he has to go before hand. |

Q: What can I do my son won't tell me he has to go potty? A: I don't know what method you both used for your sons, but in the Potty Training in One Day method there is what is a called a big day which teaches the child expected behaviors and consequences in potty training. You need to teach the child to tell you when they need to go potty when they get the physical sensations. By you or an alarm telling him to go, he isn't learning the signs. What consequences are there for peeing on themselves? * When your child has an accident, you help him clean up and change. Then practice going back and forth to the potty 9 times. Keep talking to them reminding them why they are doing this, and what they need to do so it doesn't happen again. But most importantly STAY CONSISTENT with the consequences of accidents. |
