HELP!!

My husband and I are out of ideas for our 3 1/2 year old son. We started training about 6 months ago. For most of that time, he refused to even sit on the potty. When he would, only a couple of dribbles came out. He has yet to poop or have a 'normal' pee on the potty.

When he is in underwear, he can control his pee/poop. He waits to pee until he is in the bathtub or when he gets a diaper at night. He waits to poop until he is in a diaper at night. Right now we make him sit on the potty every hour or so, but he holds it. He usually ends up having accidents and never tells us when he needs to go. (He's been getting a diaper at night, because I thought we should get him trained during the day first.) We tried incentives (stickers, pennies for the piggy bank, his favorite candy, etc) but we can't seem to find anything that works.

He loves being with his daddy and my husband has tried to have him stand too. This doesn't work either.

I feel like he has control over his bladder and bowels, but has a fear of going on the potty chair/toliet (we have tried both). --or a fear of actually just peeing or pooping in anything but a diaper. How can we get over this fear??

Thank you!!!!
