My 31/2 old grandson Will not go on the potty... His mother (my step daughter) would not even start him... I sometimes feel it is just easier for her to let him wear pullups or a diaper... He'll cry to me because she has decided that it is better to tell him he wears a diaper like a baby.. His response is "I am not a baby, I am a Kid" He knows pee and poop go in the potty.. I feel he is looking for negative attention and he gets it from her. They both live with me and there is only so much I can say or do.... She really doesn't want to hear that leaving him in a diaper for so long is not good for him and it only gets his bum a rash... She has already labled him adh... I just see him as a difient child who is looking for his mothers attention and only gets it when he misbehaves. When my husband or I have him for a day without the mom he listens and does go to the potty when we ask him.... by the way I was the one who started him on potty training I made it fun.. when the fun was taken out of the equation that is when he started to resist.... help not sure how to address both issues... |
