My 3 1/2 yr old needs to win a medal for stubbornness! she REFUSES to potty train. she has a million excuses (i'm not tall enough, i'm not big enough, i'll do it later etc...) yet she will use the potty at preschool if she wears pull-ups! at home its a whole different universe. last month, We put her in panties and 10 days later, she still was peeing on the floor, not a single peepee in the potty! i finally told her that i know she is old enough and knows how to use the potty and she wasnt going to get her pull-ups back. she would hold it for 20-24 hours at a time. i could tell by looking at her that she was in pain but she just wouldnt go on the potty. i would make her sit on the potty, but when she would get up she would go to the living room and pee right away. of course i would make her clean up her mess on her own. she is beyond bribes...i even told her we would go to disney or legoland and have promised her the world if she would just do it once! this is almost a month later and still no potty. i am so frustrated and cry everyday! it seems like she sees no reason to go on the potty if she can just clean it up. she stays dry through naptime and even overnight most of the time. i have tried not leaving the house and not letting her do anything she wants (zoo, birthday parties, etc) but it is killing me more than her! i am out of options. i am willing to hire someone at this point! any help would be greatly appreciated! |
