My youngest will be 3 in one month. We have no problem getting him to sit on the potty and he's really excited to wear big boy underwear. The problem is that he won't relax and let the pee flow. He strains/pushes so hard to pee that sometimes he poops as well. So hard that his face will sometimes turn red. Even when his bladder is full, he will do this and long spurts of pee will come out. I've discussed this with our ped and she just says that he's not ready. But he's ready in every other way. I've potty trained two other boys before the age of 3 and I know that mentally he's ready except for the fact that he won't release the pee in a relaxed manner. Also, he does have wet diapers several times a day. |
