My two and half year old son has been daytime trained for Bladder since 2 yrs and two months. All easy and no dramas. He has always had the habit of pooing in his nightime nappy as soon as he goes to bed, sometimes as well during his daytime nap. He now very obviously asks for a nappy if he needs to poo and will often hop down from my storytelling lap before bedtime and tell us he needs to poo. He has co-operated acouple of times and tried to go in the potty but doesn't seem able to. He is in general, a very happy easy going child and very co-operative. Is it just a time thing - should we let it go and let him decide when he is able to go in the potty? I also think he is ready to daytime nap without a nappy - he still sleeps two or three hours each afternoon.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Anny

I have the exact same problem with the pooping in the diaper after bedtime. She wears underwear all day (including naptime) and never wets herself. She's pooped in the potty exactly 2 times since 4/07. We rewarded her with stickers and suckers and watching a movie. Lately she gets cramps because she withholds and gets contstipated. She eats fairly healthy. We even insisted she wear a diaper and explained that it was okay to poop in the diaper, as long as she just got it out. Recently, I became so frustrated with her, I yelled at her and made her cry ... now she says, are you mad at me mommy. I'm so unsure of what I'm doing. Should I threaten to take away toys, etc. Any tips?

My daughter Natalie has the same peeing-but-not-pooping in the toilet issue too. She'd ask for a diaper to go #2, so I put her in a Pampers on the toilet without taping it up. She will poop her diaper sitting on the toilet. I still have her wipe and flush like she's going to the toilet without a diaper, so when she wipes her diaper and poo both fall in the toilet.
