Help! My 3 year old son will not poop in the potty. He has no problem going in his undies usually 4-6 times a day. He tells me he has to go and will sit on the potty but nothing comes out. I'm not sure if he really is trying to go or he just likes sitting there for the attention. We have tried EVERYTHING. He is not motivated by much and is VERY strong willed. I am trying not to put too much attention on the situation and when he does soil..I clean him up but I don't make a big deal about it. He's been peeing in the potty for over a month and has only had one accident. I can say that he has no fear about his poop. He wants to see it and flush it. Once we started potty training we have never put him back in diapers. I just don't know what to do. Do I just wait it out? I should mention that one day my husband put our son on the potty everytime he looked like he was squating to poop. This did not work at all and several hours later my son said his bum hurt. I wonder if he just doesn't know how to push unless he is standing or squating. Please help. I've run out of ideas. |
